The festival runs to the last weekend in May from Wednesday the 21st to Sunday the 25th.

David spent 30 years as an independent producer of award-winning films including The Mission, The Killing Fields, Local Hero, Chariots of Fire, Midnight Express, Bugsy Malone and Memphis Belle.  His films have won 10 Oscars, 25 Baftas and the Palme D’Or at Cannes. ?

Schull doesn’t have a Cinema, so attendees are invited to explore alternatives. Screenings, Q&As, Premieres, Workshops and Discussions are held in all sorts of weird and wonderful locations throughout the village of Schull.

‘Distributed Cinema’ is Schull’s very own dedicated server for short films. Anyone with a smartphone, laptop or tablet can access the submitted films through WiFi anywhere on Main Street during the festival.

This server is also used alongside HD media players to screen films in a number of smaller venues throughout the locality. From a bookshop or an Art Gallery to Marquees, pubs and restaurants, many of the premises in town take on the identity of a film, decorating their premises accordingly.
