Back by popular demand, Cadbury Wispa is this year’s Best C-Store Marketing Campaign. A legend was reborn on 6 October when the chocolate bar that got over 40,000 people talking on Facebook alone officially returned.

During Wispa’s short come back in 2007, some 3,006,288 bars flew off the shelves around Ireland. This record breaking success awarded Wispa a place in the brand hall of fame, as the first Cadbury brand brought back by consumer demand and the biggest ever of its kind in Ireland.

The return was celebrated by many in different ways, including a Wispa McFlurry ice cream at McDonalds which was on sale throughout the month of September.

The C-Store Wine of the Year 2008 was awarded to Australian winemaker Jacob’s Creek, from the vineyards of Barossa Valley since 1847.

2008 was another successful year for the iconic brand Coca-Cola Classic, achieving positive growth for the third consecutive year. Contributing to this was the exceptional execution of various campaigns throughout the year including, ‘Million Bottles 3’, ‘Coke and iTunes’, and ’Coca-Cola Blastbeat’, alongside exceptional creative advertising.

The 2008 Christmas activation was arguably the best yet. Christmas represented the highest period for brand affinity and 90% of the population said they enjoyed the newest Coke Christmas TV commercial. Coca-Cola invested over €1 million in its Christmas media campaign, including new innovation on bus shelters, with sonic and fibre-optic units that lit up and played the ‘Holidays are coming’ soundtrack when anyone walked in.

Coca-Cola regular drinkers increased to over 1.5 million people during the Christmas period, meaning it had presence in 30% more homes and brand Coca-Cola increased its drinkers by quarter of a million.
