He was 57.

A native of Ballybunion, the former teacher was a brother of Kerry GAA footballing legend Eoin “Bomber’ Liston.
During his 14 years with Heineken Ireland, he spent five years as Managing Director during which time he was credited with helping bring the Murphy’s Irish Open to Ballybunion in 2000.

In 2003 he left the brewery to join the Musgrave Group as Commercial Director for the next five years.

Padraig was highly regarded in both business and sports and also held a number of non-executive directorships as well as assuming the role of non-executive Chairman of Heineken Ireland.

He was appointed interim Executive Director of the Cork Opera House in 2010.
