Payzone has signed an agreement with Oxendales, a leading home shopping fashion brand, allowing for the transfer and collection of payments from Oxendales customers through the Payzone retail network. This development forms part of Payzone’s latest move to extend its payment services outside of traditional utility, financial and public sector organisations into new areas including online shopping. For Oxendales, the new service will provide a convenient and easy to use payment option for its catalogue shopping customers.

Oxendales, who also operates Simply Be and Jacomo clothing companies, is a catalogue and online retailer for womenswear, menswear, kidswear and footwear. Customers of Oxendales can sign up for a credit account and receive monthly statements. With this new agreement, customers can now bring statements to their local Payzone agent to make a payment free of charge.  Customers of Oxendales can pay their bill either in part or in full.  This means that they will now be able to avail of Payzone agents’ late evening and weekend opening hours when making payments.

Payzone has over 2,500 retail agents throughout the country.  Recent independent research conducted by Red C across a broad range of Payzone stores nationwide found that the top three reasons given by consumers for using Payzone services include its ‘handiness and convenience’ (67%), ‘easiness to use’ (35%), and their ‘preference to pay in cash’ (25%).

Speaking on the announcement, Ronnie Coffey at Oxendales, said: “This is a very exciting announcement for Oxendales – as well as Jacomo and Simply Be – as we support the Christmas and New Year shopping season. Teaming up with Payzone means we can give our customers even more options to pay their credit bills, and also allow them to benefit from Payzone agents’ late evening and weekend opening hours. We look forward to working with Payzone and the positive impact this partnership will have on our business.”

Commenting on the new agreement, Jim Deignan, managing director at Payzone Ireland, said: “This new partnership is a significant step forward for Payzone as we continue to enjoy growth and innovation within the company. As well as having a prominent selection of utilities and public sector services signed up to Payzone, we have now extended our portfolio of services into online retail, a significant development during this busy holiday season. Oxendales, together with Jacomo and Simply Be, are a leading catalogue retailer and we are thrilled to have them on board with us.”
