November Bar sales up 3.2%

Bars enjoyed a sales volume increase of 3.2% last November compared to the previous month, October, according to provisional CSO figures.

On an annual basis, bar sales volumes were down 0.7% but in terms of value, November’s Bar sales were up 3.9% on October 2012 and they were up 0.5% on an annual basis.

Retail sales volumes generally decreased by 1.1% in November compared to the previous month, October and by 0.5% on an annual basis.

Final CSO figures for October indicate that Bar sales volumes were up 1.3 per cent compared to September and they were up 3.4 per cent on an annual basis while values were down 6.2% compared to September and down by 3.0% on an annual basis.
Over the three months September to November Bar sales volumes were up 1.5% on the previous three-month period June to August but were down by 1.0% compared with the same period in 2011. Sales values showed an increase of 1.5% over the previous three-month period and an increase of 0.3% on an annual basis.
