Amber, one of Munster’s largest fuel retailers, has opened a brand new, state-of-the-art site in Charleville, Co. Cork. The 500sq m site will be home to 38 full- and part-time staff, bringing the total workforce in the Amber group to more than 250 employees.

Amber’s new site is part of a €7.9m investment programme that also includes the upgrading of company sites in Fermoy, Glounthaune and Horse & Jockey, along with the development of a new site in Tipperary town.

“As a family-run business, we have always insisted on family values within Amber,” said Liam Fitzgerald, managing director of Amber. “We use this ethos to facilitate the fostering of strong long-term relationships with customers, suppliers and staff.

“This ethos has served us well, and has brought strong growth opportunities to us over the last three years,” he added. “I am thrilled with the result.”

Amber currently supplies diesel and petrol products to 45 sites across nine counties, with further growth planned for the company in the coming years. “We’ve had our eye on Charleville for some time,” Fitzgerald continued. “Our team has vast experience in analysing a site for the neccessary conditions for success, and we feel our Charleville site ticks all the box.”

The new Amber site offers fuel, a seated restaurant, ample parking, toilet facilities, an ATM and solid fuel centre; car wash facilities are due to open in the coming weeks.
