As you are probably aware, for some time ShelfLife has been surveying retailers around Ireland to gauge their feelings on a number of topics affecting the industry in 2017. The results of this survey will be presented to guests at two special events in Dublin and Cork later this month.

Alongside John McDonald, Owen Clifford of Bank of Ireland and Actioncoach’s Marina Blehen, veteran retailer Thomas Ennis will be taking the podium at the Dublin event. In Cork, SuperValu retailer Michael Smith will be offering his thoughts on the industry and more.

A highly experienced Dublin retailer, Thomas Ennis opened his first Spar store in 2005, motivated by a vision to offer the best fresh food and drink in the market. In the intervening years, he has steadily grown his portfolio and now operates no fewer than 12 city centre and forecourt stores. An award-winning retailer, Ennis is renowned for delivering innovative and high-quality fresh food through his Spar Gourmet offering.

Michael Smith is the owner of SuperValu Kinsale, which is the current holder of the SuperValu Store of the Year and Retail Excellence Ireland Supermarket of the year. Michael, who is a sixth generation retailer, previously worked with the Musgrave Group as Centra sales director. He took over SuperValu in Kinsale in 2002 and build a brand new store in 2014.

Both of these fascinating figures will outline their key points on running and maintaining a successful busniess, making the already fascinating events simply unmissable!
