Two Dublin companies have merged to create a food distribution business with an expected annual turnover over €15 million. McNally Foods Limited, a frozen and chilled foods distributor based in Stillorgan, recently acquired Shankill-based wholesaler and retailer, Barbeque Products Limited. The new 35-strong business will provide fresh and frozen products to the retail, hospitality and restaurant trades.

McNally Foods Limited was founded in 1981 by Joseph and Marie McNally, distributing primarily in the greater Dublin area and surrounding counties. Barbeque Products is also well established having been founded in 1958 by Patrick O’Loughlin. The company supplies fresh poultry, eggs and frozen foods primarily in the greater Dublin and Wicklow area.

Patrick O’Loughlin will continue to work for the merged entity as a consultant, while Colin Halion who joined McNally Foods in 1982 shortly after its formation will act as managing director, with over 25 years experience in the foodservice trade.
