National Lottery instructs agents to remove game 615

The PLI recently advised its Agent network to remove the game and await further instructions

The €5 scratchcard, popular amongst Bingo enthusiasts was noted to have, in rare and isolated instances, difficulties in subsequent prize validations (leading to delays in payments to the player).
In what was described as an act borne from “an abundance of caution”, PLI advised their Agent network to remove the game from the display cabinets and await further instructions.
Beginning this week, PLI representatives have started to uplift the activated stock, but not the full books that have not been put into commission (and are not subject to payment).
When these uplifts are returned to PLI HQ, they will be translated into a credit against the Agents account.
CSNA has made a series of representations on this matter as it considers that, through no fault of the Agent, they will quite likely incur a debit for the activated book(s) in advance of the Credit Uplift being applied, given that the process will be carried out over a 4-6 week cycle and it is not unreasonable to accept that holidays (reps, store owners/managers) will get in the way.
While it is natural and reasonable that the first responsibility of PLI is toward preserving the integrity of the game and ensuring that the player is not discommoded, it must also be foremost in their actions that their direct customers, the Agents, are dealt with fairly and equitably.
It needs to commence a dialogue that leads to a better outcome for our members on these rare occasions.
