Marks & Spencer has announced the retailer’s partnership with the Munster Rugby Senior Women’s team, as part of its Eat Well campaign.

The partnership was officially launched at Thomond Park Stadium, Limerick by Munster captain Nicole Cronin and teammates Chloe Pearse, Róisín Ormond, Claire Bennett and Stephanie Nunan.

As part of the sponsorship, M&S will be providing players with nutritious produce pre-match and during training throughout the 2023/2024 season. The partnership will also involve a collaborative programme of free educational online resources for people across Ireland to support healthy eating and living.

Commenting on the announcement, Eddie Murphy, trading director M&S Ireland said: “This is an exciting step for us at M&S – to work with and support such a talented group of athletes. We’re known for our quality at M&S, we are excited to partner with a team known for their quality on the pitch.

“Through our partnership with Munster Rugby, we want to help promote healthy eating and healthy choices at great value every day,” he added. “Food fuels all of us, just as it fuels the Munster players. At M&S we are bringing more and more fresh, quality Irish products to our shelves every day. We’re working hard with our development team and suppliers to make sure we deliver on our commitment to sourcing the best food that Ireland has to offer. And by choosing produce with the Eat Well flower, you can be confident that you’re choosing healthy, nutritious and, delicious quality food.”

Dave Kavanagh, Munster Rugby head of commercial and marketing added that they are “delighted to be back in partnership with M&S Ireland, a hugely respected brand and household name.

“It’s even more exciting to launch this partnership exclusively with our Women’s squad, expanding to the wider community through some great healthy living and eating initiatives. We look forward to working with Eddie and the M&S team over the coming year,” Kavanagh added.

Eat Well is a health seal of approval found on thousands of M&S food products, making it easier to identify nutritional produce and make healthy shopping choices. Every product with the ‘Eat Well flower’ has a health benefit and supports a balanced diet.

Through the M&S Eat Well seal of approval and its partnership with the Munster Rugby Senior Women team, M&S Food aims to make families healthier for the next generation, promoting positive healthy eating messages in a way that’s engaging, relatable and drives change.

There are currently nearly 2000 Eat Well products across the M&S Foodhall.
