This follows representations made following an e-petition which called for the scrapping of the beer duty escalator as being destructive to jobs and the drinks industry there reaching 100,000 signatures last September.

The debate will result in a ‘voteable motion’ that may call on the Government there to review taxation policy on alcohol in advance of the 2013 Budget.
