Avonmore launches new premium soup range ideal for ‘al desko’ dining
Avonmore has launched a new smooth soup range, which is perfect for ‘al desko’ dining at work and quick and nutritious mealtimes at home. The number one Irish fresh soup brand, Avonmore has expanded its range to include three new flavours in this new premium ‘smooth’ soup texture. The flavours include Slow Cooked Chicken and Vegetable Soup; Select Vegetable with Italian Flat Leaf Parsley Soup and Vine Tomato with Aged Italian Parmesan Soup.
Deliveroo ramps up Irish growth amid global expansion into Asia, Australia and the Middle East
Deliveroo, the on-demand delivery service for high-quality restaurant meals, has now launched in five new cities, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne and Sydney marking its first foray outside Europe. The company has also raised a $100 million Series D investment.
Alongside this announcement, Deliveroo also launched its services in Galway city, securing its third Irish hub, after Dublin and Cork. Currently, Deliveroo has embarked on recruiting 30 drivers for its Galway hub, with ten of Galway City’s top restaurants already signed up to deliver meals through Deliveroo’s home-delivery service, including; McCambridges, Hooked, Creole and The Dough Bros.
Iceland delivers #PowerofFrozen campaign
By harnessing the #PowerofFrozen, Iceland says it has created a show-stopping 2015 Christmas range with great value prices. One of the highlights this year are Oyster Rockefellers (390g) (€13), with the oysters supplied by a family-run Irish business with over 20 years’ experience at Poulnasherry Bay, off the coast of Clare. The retailer is offering consumers free Delivery with a minimum order of €30 made in selected Iceland stores.
ICSC’s 2016 European Conference announces David Simon as keynote speaker
The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has announced David Simon, chairman of the board and chief executive officer at Simon Property Group, Inc., as keynote speaker for the 2016 ICSC European Conference. The annual retail real estate conference will be held on 18-19 April 2016 in Milan, Italy. The theme for next year’s programme is “Authenticity: Differentiating Retail,” which will explore how stakeholders can differentiate themselves from the rising competition and build a one-of-a-kind brand.

Search for Ireland’s top student chef launched
The search is on to find Ireland’s top culinary student chefs. The Knorr Student Chef of the Year, now its 19th year, has just launched and is open to student chefs from culinary colleges across the island of Ireland. This year’s competition will be judged by a panel comprising Unilever Food Solutions’ business development chef, Mark McCarthy, who will be joined by special guest judge and World Young Chef of the Year, Mark Moriarty and Michael Gantly, chef lecturer, Athlone Institute of Technology.
