Aramark’s ‘Chef of the Year’ to take place this week

Eight Chefs will go head to head to compete for the honour of being crowned Aramark’s Chef of the Year 2019 at this week’s CATEX event in Dublin’s RDS. Edouard Adjadj, Michael Byrne, Oran Colhoun, Farid Derradji, Ronan Fox, David Gilmartin, Ilona Jurek and Dave Magee have all been shortlisted to compete in the culinary challenge, which takes place on 27 February. The winning chef will go on to represent Ireland at the European Chef’s Cup, which will be held on 4 April.

Intrepid Spirits partners with Michter’s American Whiskey

Intrepid Spirits has announced a significant development in its growing portfolio. After unprecedented success in several international markets, the independently-held Dublin-based company has agreed a deal to import and distribute Michter’s, one of America’s leading whiskey brands and the top trending American Whiskey, according to Drinks International’s Annual Brands Report. Michter’s is the first partner brand to be taken on by the company which presently owns and distributes Cocalero, Egan’s Irish Whiskey and Mad March Hare Irish Poitín.

Dingle Gin wins “World’s Best Gin” at World Gin Awards 2019

The ABFI has congratulated the Dingle Whiskey Distillery, which was awarded Overall Best in World at the World Gin Awards Ceremony 2019, which took place in London last week. Patricia Callan, director of Alcohol Beverage Federation of Ireland (ABFI) said the win is yet another sign of Irish gin going from “strength to strength” on the world stage.

Cuervo Tradicional presents Ireland’s Best Margarita competition
