Not your run of the mill start to 2018 for Flahavan’s 

Flahavan’s is kicking off the New Year with a brand-new TV advertising campaign, the first ever TV commercial to be filmed at the Flahavan’s Mill in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford. The new campaign entitled ‘Not Your Run of The Mill Oats’ highlights the quality difference of Flahavan’s porridge and other oat products on the market. The commercial is delivered in a tongue-in-cheek style to showcase what is different about Flahavan’s unique milling techniques continually refined and upgraded through seven generations of the Flahavan family.

M&S launches first “nitrite free bacon”

Marks & Spencer has launched an innovative new bacon range which is completely free from nitrites, preservatives, E numbers and all allergens. The new bacon has been many years in development, with the retailer working closely with Northern Irish artisan supplier Finnebrogue to produce the bacon, which it says is “as delicious as standard bacon”. The purpose of adding nitrites is to give cured meat its characteristic pink colour, texture, flavour and to help as a preservative. But in recent years, nitrites have been linked to negative health impacts, most recently reported by the World Health Organisation.

Ferrero launches 2018 with €590,000 marketing campaign

Ferrero is helping retailers step into spring with a range of new seasonal products, a bespoke on-pack promotion across its Thorntons portfolio, standout merchandising solutions and a €590K marketing campaign. To emphasize the premiumisation of Thorntons and create a clearer and better-aligned range, the realaunch is supported by a marketing campaign spanning TV, digital and social media. The promotion will be live across a range of 14 eggs and novelties, offering shoppers the chance to win hundreds of personalised gifts for their loved ones. Prizes include 1,000 chocolate speech bubbles, with a personalised message.

Topaz announces its latest Play or Park winner

Topaz has announced that Andrius Jokuzys is the November 2017 winner of the forecourt retailer’s Play or Park promotion. Andrius played his points at his local Topaz in Finglas, Dublin and was announced as the lucky winner of a once-in-a-lifetime trip to sleep beneath the Northern Lights in Finland. Guinness Storehouse remains Ireland’s number one tourist attraction

The iconic Guinness Storehouse in Dublin has retained its position as Ireland’s number one international visitor attraction, with 1,711,281 guests passing through its doors in 2017. Since first opening its doors to the public in 2000, the Guinness Storehouse has welcomed almost 18 million visitors. Guinness Storehouse experienced growth from a number of key markets including USA (+13%), France (+8%), and Canada (+5%) along with new and developing markets like China (+21%) and Australia (+2%). Meanwhile, an independent economic impact report has revealed that the Store house plays a cruical role in tourists’ overall decision to visit Ireland.
