Mace has launched a special cupcake range in support of World Down Syndrome Day 2019. All proceeds from the pack of four cupcakes will go to Down Syndrome Ireland, Mace’s official charity partner, to help fund the charity’s activities.

Since partnering with Down Syndrome Ireland in 2017, MACE Ireland has raised over €65,000 for the charity, through a combination of in-store collection boxes  and the contribution of funds through specific MACE own brand products.

MACE also makes a donation on selected MACE own brand products.

Daniel O’Connell, MACE Sales Director said the group is very proud of its partnership with Down Syndrome Ireland. “We all deserve a little ‘treat’ every so often,” O’Connell, “and these delicious cupcakes are the perfect way to indulge your sweet tooth and feel good about doing so because you are donating to a very good cause.

“We are greatly looking forward to supporting DSI through the sale of our exclusive cupcakes,” he added.

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is observed on 21 March every year. On this day, people with Down syndrome, and those who live and work with them throughout the world, organise and participate in activities and events to raise public awareness and create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and wellbeing of people with Down syndrome.

Gary Owens, CEO of Down Syndrome Ireland, said that World Down Syndrome Day is more than just about creating awareness. “It’s a celebration of all age groups of people with Down syndrome and their families,” he said. “We are so grateful to our charity partners MACE for supporting the event this year with their exclusive, and delicious, cupcakes.

MACE’s exclusive pack of four cupcakes is available in store now and retail at €2.50.
