A Londis retailer from Cootehill, Co Cavan just sold the winning Lotto ticket last week. The owner, Jim Argue, says that the winner of the ticket is still unknown. The Londis store has been open for more than 20 years, and Jim has worked there for the past 13 years, with only 12 others employed in the store.

Jim commented on the surprising win saying: “We are absolutely delighted for the winner. We would like to wish them the best of luck and we hope that they enjoy their good fortune. It has created a great buzz for the locality.” Jim went on to say that he isn’t positive if the winner is a local, or someone passing through Cootehill.

The lucky numbers for the winning €6,409,326 lottery were 7, 16, 18, 20, 24, 37, with the bonus number being 13.

The winning ticket, a €20 multi-draw Quick Pick ticket, was sold on Sunday, 2nd July.
