Great excitement at Londis' first in-person retailer event in more than three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic

Londis retailers recently celebrated the return of RTE’s hit family programme, Ireland’s Fittest Family, to our television screens with coaches Davy Fitzgerald, Anna Geary and Nina Carberry at a special business and social function in the Armada Hotel in Spanish Point, Co. Clare.
Londis is sponsoring Ireland’s Fittest Family for a fourth year running as the show reaches the milestone of its tenth season this year. Filmed in the Kilruddery Estate in Wicklow, 16 of Ireland’s fittest, fastest and strongest families gathered from across all four provinces to compete over weeks for the title of Ireland’s fittest family in a series of challenges designed to test their physical and mental endurance.
There was great excitement at what was the first in-person Londis retailer event in more than three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the local community retailers were delighted in meeting the coaches and engaging in what was a very important business forum, which showcased a number of new innovations being rolled out across the Londis estate to support retailers and to benefit their customers and communities.
BWG Foods, owners and operators of the Londis brand in Ireland, also took the opportunity to showcase a number of their latest food and beverage concepts including Háo Chi Bar, The Local Tea Company, Popsicle and Pazza @ Home.
“This was a wonderful opportunity to mix business with pleasure,” said Conor Hayes, Londis sales director. “It’s been three years since Londis retailers were able to spend time together in such a fashion and everyone had a wonderful time in the social setting while also getting the benefit of hearing first hand some of the innovations BWG Foods will be making available to the estate in the coming weeks and months. We are truly delighted to renew our sponsorship of RTE’s Ireland’s Fittest Family for the fourth year. The show is a great fit for Londis; it’s a family show that gives local heroes a chance to represent their families, communities and counties on the big screen in a healthy, fun and competitive way. We are delighted to continue our support with Ireland’s Fittest Family and looking forward to seeing it back our screens.”
