We have seen lots of times in recent years Irish people’s growing commitment to eating well and other health-conscious commitments. However, new research by Centra, launched in conjunction with its Live Well Restart initiative, shows that a vast majority (83%) don’t use a gym to exercise, with cost acting as a key barrier.
A quarter of adults prefer to use the outdoors for exercise, so with this in mind Centra has launched its Restart Challenge, which is a series of 21-day motivational projects helping people get through simple exercises and achievable goals.
To launch the project, Irish fitness hero Pat Divilly was joined by exercise icon Mr. Motivator in Dublin to launch the Restart initiative, which is part of Centra’s ongoing Live Well programme. The aim of Restart is to encourage those who may have given up on their health and fitness New Year resolutions to get back on track; Centra’s research shows that nearly half of those who make such resolutions, break them.
Helping to launch Restart, Derrick Evans aka Mr. Motivator said the initiative is fantastic because it’s accessible to all. “Simple things like getting moving and making a few healthy changes to your daily routine can go a long way to helping you live a healthier, happier life,” he said.
