Over the last number of years, premium convenience store brand Fresh has made a tradition of teaming up with one of Ireland’s best choirs, The Dublin Gospel Choir for performances across it’s stores to entertain customers and as a thank you for the year’s custom.

In 2017, Fresh made national news when it released a flash mob of members of the choir performing Mariah Carey’s  ‘All I Want for Christmas’ during a busy lunchtime in its Grand Canal Dock store to the complete surprise and delight of customers.

This past festive season,  Fresh once again teamed up with The Dublin Gospel Choir but added a surprise performance from one of the world’s best George Michael tribute acts, Norris Stephens. He was joined by dancers from Ireland’s leading dance group XOD and together they performed a very special performance of ‘Last Christmas’

Head of Marketing at Fresh, Shane Byrne said that every year, Fresh aims to do something fun and different for its customer. “We have had great fun working with The Dublin Gospel Choir over the last number of years,” he said, “and this year, the team wanted to raise the bar further so we asked Norris to team up with the Gospel Choir and perform one of the most popular Christmas songs of all time.”

Customers were treated with Prosecco and Donuts on arrival, while there were lights, a flash mob of dancers, prosecco and music; in short, the store turned into a music venue and 200 people shared a very special moment.

“It’s not what you’d expect to see in a supermarket on Wednesday lunchtime,” said Shane Byrne, “but then ‘we’re more than just a supermarket!”
