JTI Ireland appoints new GM to the Irish market
John Freda has been appointed as the new general manager of JTI Ireland, the country’s leading tobacco company. John has amassed a great deal of experience in his FMCG career spanning over 20 years with stints at Coca Cola in the UK
and Gallaher Limited in he UK, Hungary and Slovenia. Following JTI’s acquisition of Gallaher, he moved to Germany to lead the integration of both companies’ existing businesses.
John commented “I am truly delighted to be here in Ireland as this is an important market for JTI. I am equally delighted to find myself surrounded by a great team who with their in-depth understanding of the Irish market are a real asset to me and retailers alike.”
JTI Ireland restructure
Head of sales
Declan McGinn joined JTI Ireland, formally Gallaher (Dublin) Ltd, in 1997. He has held various management roles within the trading function, most recently as head of trading. In January this year, McGinn was appointed head of sales, with responsibility for the field sales teams, customer services and telesales department.
Head of trading
Cormac O’Rourke joined JTI Ireland, formally Gallaher (Dublin) Ltd, in 2001 and has held a number of sales positions over the years including business development executive, key account manager and national accounts manager before taking up the role as head of trading for JTI Ireland in 2011. Cormac now has overall responsibility for the key account function in Ireland managing the trading relationships with all of JTI’s key customers.
