The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) has recently called on retailers to join Elverys, Guineys, the Art and Hobby Shop and TJ O’Mahony DIY Stores to take part in Childline Breakfast and Checkout for Childline 2025.
It is a till donation campaign to encourage their customers to add a €1 or €2 donation to their purchases during Childline Breakfast week this May 12 – 19.
Childline is also encouraging retailers to carve out a little time at the start of their day, gather over tea and toast and host their staff Childline Breakfast to help Ireland’s only 24/7/365 listening service for children and young people continue to be there for the children who need them the most.
ISPCC will provide everything that retailers need to host their own “Checkout for Childline” till donation campaign including barcodes for easy donations, wobblers and posters to raise awareness and fundraising materials.
McCambridge Bread
Childline Breakfast is supported for the second consecutive year by McCambridge Bread and retailers that sign up to host a breakfast will receive an ISPCC Breakfast Pack, including a fresh delivery of McCambridge Bread.
Childline has seen a dramatic rise in demand for all its services.
Children and young people reach out to talk to Childline staff and volunteers about family relationships, mental and emotional health and sexual abuse.
Deirdre McNamara, communications director, ISPCC said: “We are delighted to welcome back Elverys, Guineys and the Art and Hobby Shop and to welcome TJ O’Mahony Hardware to our Checkout for Childline till donation campaign.”
A small donation can make a big difference for children who need someone to listen.”
We depend on donations for up to 70% of the funding which keeps us listening 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year.”
