The annual IGBF Sporting Legends Lunch took place at the Aviva Stadium this week, featuring a star-studded panel of sporting legends who gathered to take part in an entertaining and informative panel discussion exploring their own careers and the world of sport they have made such a contribution to. The assembled audience of IGBF members and well-wishers were enraptured as the panellists each shared their personal stories of success, challenges and funny mishaps that have happened along the way.

GAA legend, Alan Brogan was a surprise guest ahead of the All-Ireland Football Final, who shared some of his insider knowledge on the game and predictions ahead of the big match – which, as it turned out, would go on to be a heart-stopping draw. MC Síle Seoige brought out the best of the panel and their golden sporting stories, some of which had the audience in stitches of laughter.

The event was a complete sell-out, with 400 guests attending on the day including many major Irish retailers and suppliers in the industry. A whopping €11,500 was raised on the day through the raffle prizes alone and altogether the event has raised more than €40,000 of much needed funds for the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund.

The IGBF Lunch would not be possible without its sponsors and the organisation expressed a huge thank-you to its sponsors The Executive Institute, Kind Healthy Snacks, Kellogg’s and all of the generous guests who provided prizes for the raffle. A special mention also goes to Tesco Ireland, Diageo, and FMI, whose continued support has helped make the event a huge success.
