Hula Hoops has announced its summer partnership with the charity Spinal Injuries Ireland, through which it aims to raise funds and awareness. The campaing will involve the “Get Hooping” initiative, where a contribution to the charity will be made on behalf of everyone who gets hula hooping.

Hula Hoops are asking the public to share their pictures and videos of hula-hooping fun on the brand’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, or to simply text to donate €4.

The Fun Never Grows Old tour will bring a carnival atmosphere including plenty of colour, noise and prizes to festivals and locations around the country.

The next stop on the tour is the Pride Festival at Dublin’s Merrio Square on 25th June, after which it will move on to some of the biggest events around the country.

“This is an innovative and fun way to take part and raise awareness of the devastating impact a spinal injury can have,” said Fiona Bolger, Spinal Injuries Ireland’s CEO. “On average, one person sustains such an injury every week – it can happen to anyone at any time.

The funds that are raised will go towards crucial services such as our Community Outreach Programme, which provides support and information to people living with spinal cord injury, and their families.”
