Fourcorners, the speciality beer importers, has recently introduced one of Munich’s most historic beers to Ireland. Hofbrau has become synonymous with Munich through its beer hall, the Hofbrau Haus, which is Munich’s most famous traditional Bavarian beer hall and attracts up to 500,000 visitors annually. The brewery was founded in 1589 and is still state-owned to this day. Its beers are entirely free of artificial ingredients and are produced according to the highest Bavarian standards. Hofbrau is available in three varieties, Hofbrau Original, Hofbrau Munich Weisse and Hofbrau Schwarze Weisse, a dark weisse beer. Paul Maher of Fourcorners says: “Hofbrau Original is a full bodied lager style beer, approx 5.1% abv, which offers a truly fine hop aroma. It epitomises traditional Bavarian beer. With an RSP of €2.49, it also represents excellent value for such a premium beer product”.
