Heineken Ireland has announced the appointment of company veteran Maarten Schuurman as its new Managing Director, effective 1st September 2018.  Mr. Schuurman has enjoyed a successful 22-year career at Heineken encompassing both global and general management leadership positions.

Mr. Schuurman will join the Irish business from his current role as Head of Global Sales based in the company’s international headquarters in the Netherlands.  For the past three years, he shaped and delivered Heineken’s global sales agenda including revenue management and e-commerce across all continents.

Mr. Schuurman joined Heineken in 1996 as a management trainee.  During his 22-year career, he has held several finance and commercial roles in Heineken Netherlands and has been Managing Director of Heineken’s operating companies in Suriname, South America and Burundi in East Africa.

Mr. Schuurman will succeed Maggie Timoney who has been appointed Chief Executive officer of Heineken USA following five years as managing director of Heineken Ireland.
