Greencore reports strong H1 performance
Greencore posts profit growth as Bakkavor integration progresses and new business wins build in H2
27 May 2026
Greencore has reported a strong set of H1 FY26 results, driven by revenue growth, improved profitability and progress on the integration of Bakkavor following its acquisition earlier this year.
The business delivered proforma revenue growth of 3.2% during the first half, while proforma adjusted operating profit increased 15.3% to £73.3 million.
Greencore said the performance reflects disciplined cost management and the ongoing benefits of its operational excellence programme.
Leverage came in at 2.3x, below the expected c.2.5x range, which the company described as an encouraging early sign of financial discipline across the enlarged business.
Bakkavor acquisition
The acquisition of Bakkavor was completed on 16 January 2026, creating what Greencore describes as the UK’s leading manufacturer of fresh convenience foods.
Integration efforts are continuing, with the organisation operating as one business since mid-April.
Greencore said it remains on track to deliver at least £80 million in annual cost synergies by the end of year three following the acquisition.
Operational performance remained strong throughout the period, including during the peak Christmas trading season, with customer service levels maintained above 99%.
The group also launched 308 new products during the half as part of its continued focus on innovation and category development.
Looking ahead, Greencore said trading in Q3 has remained robust, with new business wins continuing to build across the combined business.
Onboarding of new contracts is expected during Q3 and Q4.
The company added that it expects to deliver full-year adjusted operating profit in line with current market expectations.
