Good news for UK nightclubs

Nightclubs in the UK had some good news recently with the publication of the recent Leisure Wallet Report from Zolfo Cooper indicating that after a “torrid period of trading”, consumers believe they’re back to visiting late-night venues as often as they did in 2010 with spend recovering to mid-2011 levels.

Visit frequency rose to 2.5 times per month compared with 2.1 a year ago or five extra visits per annum, according to the report.

Clearly the 18 to 24 year-old category is critical to the nightclub market, stating that they’re going clubbing 2.7 times a month on average, up from 2.3 – or five extra visits a year.

And in keeping with the trend for ‘pre-loading’ Zolfo Cooper reports that a quarter of clubbers now enter a nightclub at or after midnight, almost two-thirds do not go into a club before 11pm and more than 90 per cent enter after 10pm.
