Glenn Myers of SuperValu Charlesland, Greystones, Wicklow was named Retail Manager of the Year at the 2017 ShelfLife Grocery Management Awards, which took place in a glitterying ceremony at Dublin’s Royal Marine Hotel.

Myers was presented the award by Owen Clifford, Bank of Ireland’s head of retail banking. Bank of Ireland was platinum sponsor at the event, with Clifford commenting that the organisation was delighted to be associated with the awards, in order to acknowledge the hard work that goes in to the grocery retail industry every year.

“Irish retailers are continually winning international awards for high standards and innovation,” Clifford said. “Tonight’s awards are a testament to that success over the past twelve months; to the industry’s commitment to local areas and to creating employment.”

Overall winner Glenn Myers was also the winner of Small Supermarket Manager of the Year, one of 23 awards presented on the night in the areas of convenience store and department management, marketing, merchandising and more.

Stay tuned to ShelfLife for full coverage of the events; photos from the night can be found on our facebook page while the full list of winners is below. We congratulate Myers and all the winners on the night, and look forward to another year of success for one and all.
