Gala launches customer service ‘Live Chat’ in sector first
In a first for Ireland's convenience retail industry, Gala has launched a live chat instant messaging service that will allow customers as well as retailers to contact the company directly with any enquiries related to the business.

In an industry first, Gala Retail has launched a Live Chat function on both its consumer and retailer websites.
Responding to high levels of incoming traffic to Gala.ie, the company has introduced an instant messaging function that will allow customers as well as retailers to post enquiries on a range of topics related to the business. Currently Gala boasts 190,000 followers across three of the main social platforms – Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – and has expanded its communication channels with ‘Live Chat’ to accommodate the increase in inbound enquiries at Gala.ie.
The company website features a number of promotions and competitions which are taking place nationwide across Gala stores, such as exclusive Disney Pixar premier screenings and ‘Family Fun with Gala Retail’ which gives Gala customers the chance to win 1 of 5 family holidays by simply spending €10 or more in-store & getting their ‘Gala Passport’ stamped in store.
The Gala website will also host entries for the Gala Gifts for Schools competition, which is back for 2019 following a huge reception last year. This time a massive €30,000 is up for grabs for 3 lucky Irish Primary Schools. Due to launch in September, details on Gala Gift for Schools and all other competitions are available now on the Gala website.
The service will allow customers and retailers alike to stay connected with the Gala brand online by using a ‘chat box’ on the Gala website to connect with a live resource which will be on hand to answer queries and respond to information requests. Users will be able to rate their satisfaction with the support following each chat session.
