Gala has invested €400,000 in a new 5,000 sq ft headquarters in Kill, County Kildare, named Summit House. The investment will afford the convenience group room to expand in the future.

Housing 22 employees in operations, finance, IT, marketing and promotional roles, the group has recently relocated from its former home in Dundrum Business Park, to Embassy Retail Park in Co. Kildare. This move will make the HQ more accessible to Gala Retail Services’ 275 group stores, of which 200 are Gala franchise stores.

“Gala has experienced phenomenal growth over the past 12 years and our geographical reach is now nationwide. With stores from Listowel to Letterkenny, locating our headquarters off the N7 made logistical sense. Our new location is more central to our stores, retailers and suppliers and can be used by our regional sales and development team, who are based across the country. The move mirrors our development as an ambitious and growing convenience symbol group,” said Gary Desmond, CEO of Gala.

Gala currently employs over 3,000 people in its retail and wholesale operations and works closely with Irish suppliers, having sourced over €200m of Irish produce in 2009, with retail turnover surpassing €500m.
