Dublin-based creative agency, Folk Wunderman Thompson has been awarded the account for Lidl Ireland following a competitive pitch with three other agencies. Folk will be the creative agency leading the strategic and creative development across the Lidl account in the Republic of Ireland.

“This is a very exciting win for us,” said Abi Moran, CEO of Folk Wunderman Thompson. “Throughout the pitch process, we were inspired by Lidl’s commitment to Irish people, low prices and quality produce and we’re delighted to work with the Lidl team in bringing this to life.

“We can’t wait to translate this commitment into campaigns that inspire the next stage of growth for one of Ireland’s much loved retailers and create work that truly lives up to the brand’s vision to make life better for Irish people,” she added.

“We are delighted to work with Folk Wunderman Thompson and we welcome the new perspective they will bring to our business,” said Fiona Fagan, marketing director, Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland.

“Life at Lidl is fast-paced, driven by innovation and our hardworking teams, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the Folk team to our dynamic environment and to building an agile approach to our partnership that serves the pace and scale of a business like ours,” she added. “We are very excited to embark on a new partnership that will continue to grow Lidl’s market share in an incredibly competitive category.”

Lidl joins Folk’s already diverse client portfolio including Vodafone, An Post, Bord Gáis Energy, Irish Life, Brennans and Irish Cancer Society.

Folk is part of WPP’s global Wunderman Thompson network.
