Entries are about to close for this year’s Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards, which will – as always – take place at the prestigious Dingle Food Festival in September.

Last year, more than 2500 entries were considered in what is the largest blind-tasted Food Awards in the country. The Supreme Champion was a rhubarb-flavoured cider produced by Stonewell in Cork.

It’s well known also that winning an Irish Food Award can be a major boost for a brand. “Every product that carries a Finalist, Gold, Silver or Bronze sticker is picked up more quickly than those without,” says Awards chairperson, Artie Clifford. “Our research has shown that the Blas accreditation has the highest recognition amongst Irish consumers and using the award logo on pack has made a significant difference to businesses.”

The closing date for entries is 14 June 2017, so there is still time! To enter, or learn more about the event, go to www.irishfoodawards.com
