Eurospar Supermarkets is supporting what is the world’s largest sustainable fashion competition for young people, Junk Kouture. The Junk Kouture Final 2023 Powered by RTÉ returns to the bright lights of 3Arena, Dublin on 4 May 2023, where 80 design teams from post-primary schools across Ireland will battle it out for one of 10 places up for grabs to represent Ireland at the next Junk Kouture World Final.

The winning designs selected by a panel of Junk Kouture judges will compete against fifty other teams from Abu Dhabi, London, Paris, Milan and New York later this year. The Junk Kouture Dublin City Final 2023 Powered by RTÉ will be filmed for TV and broadcast on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player later this year.

Eurospar sales director, Peter Dwan said the group is “hugely excited” to support the project, noting: “At the heart of Eurospar is an unbreakable commitment to responsible retailing, all underpinned by our focus on providing sustainable grocery shopping experiences to the many communities that we serve across Ireland. One of our key objectives over the coming years is to raise awareness around food waste and to drive behavioural change amongst consumers in relation to recycling. Junk Kouture have revolutionised how society views recycled goods and made sustainability exciting for younger people in Ireland, we are hugely excited to work with them on this partnership.”

Junk Kouture will engage deeper into communities across Ireland through Eurospar Supermarkets’ expansive nationwide footprint, helping to spread that all important message of living sustainably, while also showcasing the educators, creators and ambassadors that are at the forefront of this pioneering cultural movement.
