A 63 year-old bottle of Cheval Blanc was sold at auction for €223,000 ($304,000) at Christies in Geneva recently.

The 1947 imperial-sized bottle of poshest plonk, sold to an “anonymous collector”, had been valued at up to €184,000 so originally, according to Christies International Wine departmental chief David Elswood, "We are extremely pleased to have established the world-record price for any bottle of wine at auction”.
