Model and mum-of-two Claudine Keane today launched Spar Better Choices Kids. The new campaign aims to offer children a new range of healthy and convenient options, from across the fresh food, deli and grocery ranges. It also caters for shoppers with varying nutritional needs with low fat, high protein and gluten free products on offer.

Following on from  the launch of Spar Better Choices in June, the Spar Better Choices Kids initiative will see new child portions available across participating Spar stores.

A special lunch pack has also been designed, which will contain a recommended roll or wrap of choice, a yoghurt or a piece of fruit and a bottle of Spar water for €3.50; an ideal option for busy parents who want to send the kids off to school with a healthy but tasty lunch box.

To launch the new initiative, Spar partnered with dietitian Ellen Roche, to research and carefully select which produce to include in the range. A member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute, Roche spent many months working with Spar on the new initiative.

All products in the range will be highlighted in-store with the Spar Better Choices logo. Snack favourites include fruit pots, rice cakes, yoghurts and juices.

The initiative is already in a number of Spar stores and will roll out to others over the coming weeks.
