Wallaces Express supplies pubs and restaurants with wines, spirits, soft drinks, draught beer, glassware and snacks.
The 138 year-old company, which claims to be Scotland’s largest wholesaler, employs nearly 300 staff and will provide C&C with a multi-beverage platform for distributing its products throughout Scotland.

Although Wallaces Express will continue to be run independently, it will work alongside the C&C Group to deliver a full portfolio offering to the Scottish on-trade and continue to support their customers.

No price for the deal was disclosed but the distribution company will be run independently from C&C’s beer business although C&C will “seek opportunities to take advantage of cross-selling for customers, particularly in wines & spirits”.

Wallaces Express has depots in Irvine, Coatbridge, Dunfries, Lanark, Kintore and Inverness.
