It makes fascinating reading and shows just what the HSE plans instead for cancer-sufferers by way of a treatment centre versus what already exists and extolled from the rooftops at St Luke’s for years as “a beacon of medical care and spiritual sustenance for cancer sufferers and their families for over half a century in Ireland”. The book tells of the goings on behind the scenes and exposes how St Luke’s was “shafted” – a classic case of big business/government vs a better way to treat cancer patients. You can order Cancer in a cold climate online by going to www.originalwriting.ie or savestlukes@eircom.net. It costs €15 plus packaging and posting.
