BWG Foods has launched Greens & Co, a brand new salad bar franchise, with the first outlet opening earlier this week in Spar, Gandon House in Dublin’s IFSC.

The new food model, which has been developed in response to a growing demand for healthy fresh food-to-go, can be incorporated into a convenience store or exist as a standalone outlet.

Greens & Co says it has one promise – ‘Just Good Food’. Salads are prepared freshly each day, to a customer’s choice and preference. The menu also includes wraps and a range of health food products.

The Greens & Co promise is to only use the very best quality, locally-sourced products and that includes only using fresh Irish chicken in all salads and wraps, so there is full traceability to the source. The company also works with some of the most innovative up-and-coming Irish suppliers in the Greens & Co snacks and juices range, including Boost Bites, Gourmet Fuel, Soup Café and Cracked Nut.

The reaction to the opening of the first Greens & Co at Spar, Gandon House, IFSC has been well received by local shoppers. John Clohisey, group property director, BWG Foods is confident: “Greens & Co will fulfil the need for increased choice in the Irish convenience and food-to-go market.”

Joe Byrne, Spar, Gandon House, IFSC is the first retailer to launch this premium brand in his store. He has a very busy lunchtime trade and believes the franchise will hit the right note with his shoppers.

“Greens & Co is a premium brand and I believe it caters for a gap in the market,” Byrne said. “People are actively looking for more choice and to be able to maintain their healthy lifestyle when eating out-of-home.”

Already, the new concept has created 10 new jobs.
