Same-day grocery delivery provider Buymie has announced that the €4.99 delivery fee will be waived on orders over €40 from Dunnes Stores, starting today (Thursday, 21 January) until Sunday, 21 February.
Buymie is currently the only platform to deliver the full range of in-store products from multiple retailers on the same platform with no maximum basket limits. The group states it also offers over 25 times more product options on its app than any other service in the country.
“Reducing all our movements is vital now more than ever and Buymie’s same-day grocery delivery service has become essential for those at high risk or time poor especially with the return of homeschooling,” said Devan Hughes, CEO and co-founder of Buymie.
On the decision to waive the €4.99 delivery charge on Dunnes Stores orders, Hughes added: “I feel that it is down to local Irish businesses to do what we can, when we can to support our local communities during this stressful time.”
Following Ireland’s return to lockdown this month, Buymie’s same-day slots filled up faster than anticipated and it is now trading 600% ahead of the same period last year.
To meet demand, this month Buymie reported it had nearly doubled its personal shopper network, while also allowing users to book a dedicated one-hour slot to plan their week ahead safely.
Buymie’s personal shoppers will keep in touch with the customer via phone calls to suggest replacements for out of stock items and can notify the customer of the expected delivery time.
To access the service, users can download the Buymie app from the Apple iOS app store, or from the Google Play store onto a mobile device.
