Lucky winner Mary Keaney from Ballinasloe, Co. Galway was recently presented with a brand new Hyundai i10, the grand prize in ‘The Bend In The River’ national consumer promotion in association with Hyundai, Ireland.  

The promotion ran from July to October 2009 and was supported by a national TV advertising campaign and in-store display units and neck collars on promotional bottles generated over 5,000 entries.

According to Ann Marie Finucane, marketing manager, Findlater Wine & Spirit Group: “Offering consumers the chance to win a Hyundai i10 and using SMS as the entry mechanic proved a highly successful promotion for The Bend in The River. The trade support was fantastic and the brand share grew by 3.8% during the period.”

Sarah Hayes, marketing manager Hyundai said: “Hyundai would like to extend a very warm congratulations to Mary and to wish her many years of happy motoring in her new car. The Hyundai i10 has just been voted the ‘Hero Scrappage Car’ in the ‘City Car’ segment by the Irish Times. On top of that it is currently one of our best-selling models, so Mary will be in excellent company on the roads.”
