Bars seek court protection

The High Court has been asked to continue court protection so as to finalise a survival scheme for the family-run Foley's bar and restaurant business and the adjoining O'Reilly's bar on Dublin's Merrion Row.

A report in this morning’s hospitalityenews states that Bank of Scotland (BOS), the business’ major creditor owed some €5m by the operating and holding companies, is opposing examinership and its counsel Cian Ferriter SC said in the High Court it would provide no further finance.
