Avoca is in expansion mode just two months after its acquisition by Aramark, announcing that it is to open its largest store yet in Dunboyne, Co. Meath.  Donal O’Brien, president, Aramark Northern Europe, had signalled Aramark’s commitment to expanding the Avoca Chain in Ireland and abroad when Aramark acquired Avoca last December.

In total, €3 million is being invested in the new store which will create 80 new jobs when it opens in the Autumn, bringing total employment in Avoca to more than 900 employees.

Outlining the plans for the new store, Simon Pratt, managing director, Avoca said: “This is our 12th store and our largest and most ambitious to date. We’re investing more than €3 million to create a gorgeous experience for our customers and the fit out will be to the highest standards.  The location is superb and will attract consumers from West Dublin, Meath, Kildare and beyond, looking to enjoy the Avoca experience”.

Situated on a four acre site (formerly Plantagen), Avoca Dunboyne will have 35,000 sq.ft. of retail space and parking for 300 cars.  Adjacent to the M3, the location in commuter belt heartland, means more than 1 million people live within a 30 minute commute of the new store. The new site will offer visitors what the company describes as “the full Avoca experience” including a café; a food market and retail area, complete with fashion and artisan craft products.
