Gus O’Hara’s shop at Styles Road in Clontarf was the subject of an armed robbery this morning. Two suspects were arrested shortly afterwards and a firearm, cash and other evidence was seized.

Speaking to ShelfLife, O’Hara said the response by gardaí was exceptional, with somebody on site in a little over 90 seconds. He also praised his own security company MTS whose operatives quickly arrived at the shop to deal with the aftermath.

Gus said: “With good intel and co-operation of the local neighbours the suspects were apprehended. I’d like to commend the bravery of the uniformed gardaí who went after the suspects event though the guards knew they were armed. The follow up work of the detectives was exemplary and the neighbours co-operated in helping to find where the suspects were.”

“Catherine my manager was brilliant, intelligent and focused,” he added.
