Walsh PR has announced the appointment of Maeve Governey as client director. Governey has over 15 years’ experience in the public relations industry in Ireland. She previously held senior positions at HK Strategies and Heneghan PR. She also successfully ran her own PR business for a number of years.

Governey joins the Walsh PR team of client executives and consultants who provide a unique mix of online/digital, integrated marketing and traditional PR services to clients in areas including consumer food and nutrition, pharma and healthcare, consumer lifestyle, professional services, environment and charity and NGO sector.

Compass Group Ireland appoints finance director

Compass Group Ireland has appointed Tony Dignam as finance director.

Dignam will manage all financial aspects of Compass Group’s Irish business. He also joins the executive management team and assumes responsibility for developing and growing Compass Group’s business portfolio in Ireland.

Prior to joining Compass Group, Dignam worked as finance director to the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) for three years and was a managing partner at Franchise Connections for four years.

Barry Group appoints new finance director

Barry Group has announced the appointment of Paul Fitzgerald to the position of finance director. Fitzgerald joined the Barry Group from Keary Motors in 2004 as a financial manager. His steadfast dedication and strong performance saw him assume the role of financial controller in May 2006 before being appointed chief financial officer in March 2014. He takes over the role of finance director with immediate effect.

RNN Communications appoints digital marketing & PR executive

Jolene Kelly has been appointed as digital marketing & PR executive with RNN Communications. In her role, Kelly will be managing an all-Ireland portfolio of RNN Digital clients, in the FMCG and renewables sectors, providing counsel on digital strategy and implementing results-driven campaigns. Kelly’s experience includes five years working in digital marketing roles.

PSG Communications appoints account director

PSG Communications is pleased to announce the launch of PSG Health which will be led by Nalini Nathan as account director. Nathan was appointed to the position in December 2014 and will be responsible for new business development. Nathan joins PSG Plus with ten years’ experience specialising in developing novel and effective strategic communications and creative campaigns for health and pharma clients. Previous to her joining PSG, she was with Publicis D Healthcare and First Medical Communications.

Dalcassian Wines & Spirits announces expansion with five new appointments

With over 25 years in the drinks industry, Brian Rigney started out his career in sales with Heineken Ireland in 1989, before setting up his own gastro pub in Portlaoise (the Welcome Inn) in 2001. He sold his share in the pub in a profitable partnership in late 2005 and joined Febvre & Company, later moving to Findlater Wines & Spirits company in July 2012. Rigney heads up a team of 12 at Dalcassian Wines & Spirits, with responsibility for group accounts, new business development and customer relations.

Declan Ryan joins Dalcassian Wines & Spirits from Findlater where he worked in sales for over a decade. He previously worked with Bulmers Cider, Grants of Ireland and BWG. Ryan travels around Munster looking after the day to day communication with Munster-based accounts and developing new business in the on-trade sector.

Nigel Duffy joins Dalcassian Wines & Spirits from Edward Dillon & Co. Ltd where he worked in business development across a range of leading international brands including Hennessy, Moët & Chandon, Bacardi and Jack Daniels for over 14 years. At Dalcassian, Duffy manages on-trade accounts in Dublin city centre.

Derek joins Dalcassian Wines & Spirits from Bulmers Ireland where he worked as business development manager for the past six years covering west Dublin and Dublin city centre. He has worked on both sides of the drinks industry since his youth, managing bars and outdoor events before moving into drinks distribution and sales.

Ruth Dunne

Ruth Dunne

Ruth Dunne has been appointed brand manager at Dalcassian Wines & Spirits with special responsibility for Wakefield wines and Licor 43 – the fastest-growing liqueur internationally.

Prior to her appointment, Dunne completed the IBEC-run Export Orientation Programme (EOP) when working as brand ambassador for the Kilbeggan Distilling Company in Pennsylvania, USA. She travelled across America, managing the sales, promotion and marketing of the Beam portfolio of Irish whiskies – Kilbeggan, Greenore, Tyrconnell and Connemara.
