An Post is gearing up for a multi-million euro rebrand aimed at modernising the state carrier’s image in the digital age, according to reports. The Irish Times reports that the “wavy lines” that have been An Post’s main logo since 1984 will be phased out, to be replaced with a “Mobius” circle and new stylised font aimed at representing “ongoing change and connectedness” at An Post.

Other changes planned in the rebrand include the adopting of a new shade of green as An Post’s official corporate colouring, which it says is aimed at promoting sustainability and its adherence to both physical and digital environments.

Finally, An Post will return to officially using “An Post” as its brand name, as opposed to simply “Post”, which was the choice for many years. The aim of this is to help promote brand recognition outside of Ireland.

The new elements will be applied to all An Post delivery vans and trucks, shop fronts, uniforms and other materials in a three-year project. Furthermore, An Post has established two new sub-brands: An Post Money, which will involve a suite of digital financial services products, and An Post Commerce, a business-to-business unit, delivering e-commerce, mails and mail-media solutions.
