Aldi Ireland is seeking new sites for potential future stores in the Dublin Area to add to its network of 148 stores across Ireland, the group has announced.

Aldi is seeking freehold town-centre or nearby edge-of-centre sites suitable for retail development (minimum 0.8 acres). Ideally, sites would be located on a prominent main road with good visibility and access for customers. Aldi says it is also interested in leasing new or existing space in retail parks, purchasing or leasing space in district centres, or existing retail premises.

This year, Aldi has opened new stores in Bayside, Co. Dublin and Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath and will also open a new store in Newbridge, Co. Kildare during November. Recruitment is now under way for the Newbridge store with 25 permanent positions available.

“We are working to extend our network of stores within Dublin, having recently opened two new stores bringing our total to 24 stores,” said Niall O’Connor, Aldi Group managing director.

O’Connor said the group has already “identified a number of suitable sites” but is “very interested in learning about other options in the Dublin Area.”

He added that Aldi is “offering a 1.5% fee for suitable referrals”.
