Aldi has plans to extend its shuttle bus services to every college in Ireland before the end of this year.

Students responded well to a trial service at the Institute of Technology Sligo last year and now the discounter is planning to provide free transport across Irish campuses, to and from its stores.

At present, the service is operating in Trinity, UCD, Limerick and DCU and will be running in Dundalk Institute of Technology by the end of this week.

An Aldi spokesperson told the Sunday Times: “[We] see students as an important demographic and to that end decided to look at helping them with their weekly shop by putting on a bus service that brings them to and from their nearest store.”
