Aldi has further increased its presence in Co. Cork with the opening of its latest Project Fresh’ store in Passage West, which has created 20 new jobs.

Featuring Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh layout and design, the new store boasts a large shop floor spanning 1,020m², 82 free car parking spaces, wide aisles and hi-spec fixtures and fittings.

The new Passage West store is Aldi’s 22nd store in Co. Cork, which brings the retailer’s total number of outlets in Ireland to132.

The latest opening is part of Aldi’s €160m investment in its Irish store network. Altogether, Aldi has committed €100m to constructing and opening 20 new stores by the end of 2019, while Project Fresh sees Aldi invest a further €60m in revamping the layout and design of all its 132 stores nationwide.

Daire Dullea, store manager of the new outlet described the Project Fresh design as “much more spacious. “We are delighted to open our new Passage West store and look forward to welcoming many new customers from the local area,” Dullea said. “The Project Fresh design is much more spacious than a typical Aldi store and we are confident that our customers will find it provides a more enjoyable shopping experience.”
