Aldi has launched a new range of fresh organic fruit and vegetables, which the discounter says allows consumers to buy produce from certified organic farms, minus the premium prices.

Grown without any synthetic chemicals and pesticides, Aldi’s new “Organic Fresh” range is now available at its 112 stores nationwide and includes Organic White Potatoes (€2.29 / 2kg), Organic Cucumbers (99c / 350g), Organic Cherry Tomatoes (€1.29 / 250g), Organic Vine Tomatoes (€1.69 / 500g), Organic Twin Pepper Pack (€1.99 / 400g), Organic Carrots (€1.29 / 750g), Organic Onions (€1.29 / 750g), Organic Apples (€1.99 / 4 pack), Organic Pears (€1.79 / 500g) and Organic Broccoli (€1.79 / 400g).  Aldi plans to introduce new lines to the range in coming months, providing consumers with additional choice and value.

Aldi Ireland’s group buying director, Colin Breslin said, “Irish consumers are now more concerned with the quality of what they eat and demand for organic produce is on the increase.  Eating organic doesn’t have to be expensive and at Aldi we believe it’s important for organic produce to be available to everyone.  Our customers know we continuously work towards exciting them with our new offerings, and, with prices starting at just 99c, health conscious shoppers can now stock up on the most natural fresh fruit and vegetables without having to fork out.”
