Musgrave has reiterated the call for the public to remain calm and not panic buy, stating that the group and its retail partners are continuing to “work to maximise availability and are working with suppliers to keep products flowing through the system”.

“The health of our colleagues across our store network, our customers, the communities in which we operate and our supply chain partners is our top priority at this time,” said Musgrave CEO Noel Keeley.

The CEO said the group has “a significant part to play in the national effort in dealing with the Covid-19 challenge,” given its “important role in Ireland’s food supply chain”.

Through retail partners’ stores in towns and villages across the country,” Keeley said “we are taking every step possible to ensure that the food supply chain continues to function as normal and we are directly engaging with government on the matter.

“We are experiencing high volumes of demand but our advice to the public is that there is no need for panic buying,” the CEO added. “Panic buying is an inconvenience to other customers, so we would reiterate the call to remain calm. We continue to work to maximise availability and are working with suppliers to keep products flowing through the system.”

Keeley also acknowledged “the tremendous efforts of every member of Musgrave team, our retail partners and their team who are going above and beyond for our customers” and thanked the general public for their patience during this time.
